Oceans of Thoughts led to The Ark

Standard

While sitting on the shore of the Indian Ocean, in Tanzania Africa, my thoughts began to wander, mesmerized by the toss and turn of the waves…

Before long, I began to imagine what it might have been like for the people who perished in the day that the great flood came…

Advanced warning was provided, but no one took it seriously.

Mankind repeatedly were warned “Repent”  but they continued in their wickedness.

God spoke to Noah, and in intricate, methodical detail, directed him step by step to build an ark.  We call it today ‘Noah’s Ark.’

Provision was provided for whoever believed  and acted upon the way of escape… but only a handful were pure in heart.

A remnant remained.

No one knew what RAIN  was then, for no rain ever fell upon the earth while Noah was following God’s instructions, building the Ark.

Eventually, the day came.  The Ark was loaded.  The door closed.  And the rain began.

Forty days and forty nights, the Ark, and all contained within, tossed and turned in the pouring rain.

This image is the one that my mind reflectively focused on, sitting on the beach shore in Tanzania… watching the old boats rock gently in the waves…

My mind visualizing the moment of realization for those who chose NOT to repent, who chose to remain in sin…

I imagined their cries for help that were deafened by the pitter patter of the rain,  crashing waves against the side of the Ark, possibly the animal noises drowning the very cries of drowning souls…

And it fueled my passion even more to grab hands of those with one foot in the fire of hell back into the safety of God’s salvation, while there is still time…

Gods Word never changes.

God is our shelter and Jesus is our  ark of safety.

God never leaves us or forsakes us.

He doesn’t move.

Yet, He will permit us to drift away from Him, if we choose.

It’s so important to stay connected to Him, the Vine.  To Him, the Word.

Our enemy, the devil roams around like a lion, seeking whom he may devour.

He’s subtle, and manipulative. He is patient. He is crafty,  conniving.

He will plant a suggestive seed of doubt, and will try to lure you away from the Truth gradually… like a boat that lost its anchor…

The further away you drift, the harder it will be to return to safety.

Like a rowboat without a paddle leaving the shore… Drifting further and further away…the shore doesn’t leave.

It stays firm. But the drifted rowboat on the waves of water without an anchor leads you into trouble, and eventually to your demise.

Don’t let the devil deceive you.

Gods Word is STILL God talking to you, is STILL the answer for all of life’s troubles, is STILL the anchor for our faith.

Just because the world is full of sin and unholy lifestyles doesn’t mean we have to live the worlds way.

Noah’s life must have preached the most profound sermon series to everyone around him without even  a word spoken, simply by him living a life of faith.

Noah’s obedience to what God commanded him to do, and his commitment and faithfulness, preached… but no one listened.

Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives- made it safely through the flood.   They were hidden safely in the ark of safety, which got them through the storm to the other side.

My husband and I was blessed by our children for Christmas with tickets  to the Ark Encounter (full biblical scale replica of the Ark), and The Creation Museum, in Kentucky.

We will blend our 32nd wedding anniversary vacation with ministry in Ohio, and touring the Ark in Kentucky… I’m excited to see a glimpse of what the Ark might have looked like…but for now, my imagination based on scriptural account has painted a picture…

And it haunts me.  The missionary in me…the Evangelist in me… FEELS for those who ridicule God, refusing to take God’s Word seriously, because of the eternal consequence of their choice…

The Spirit of God is leading me to throughout lifelines & safety rings, by going, and speaking the good news.

Today is, sadly, not much different than the days of Noah.   Truth be told,  we have started down the  slippery slope of days worse than the days of Noah.  We are in the last of the last days…

People are perishing, floating and drifting further away from safety, without an anchor of God’s Truth to hold them steady.

Heres a good word:  Get planted firmly in a local bible-teaching church.

Associate with other believers, especially ones more mature and solid in their faith to help mentor and guide you.

Watch your associations- some can be deadly.

If you desire a wholesome life, find a wholesome group of people to befriend.

It may lead to your future soulmate, and future family God has planned for you.

Put Gods Kingdom first.

Fall in love with Jesus, enjoy TODAY and serve Him, and joy will follow.

Don’t drift.

There’s safety onshore, in THE ark of safety… His Name is Jesus.
