As a young girl in 1975, God placed His Love in my heart for Africa. A missionary came to my church, and showed pictures of childrenfrom Africa who were very poor, very hungry, and very thirsty.
Something stirred in my heart when I saw those images. It left an impression on me that became part of me.
How can we, here in the USA, have so much, when they, there in Africa, have so little?
Why-WHY did God bless us with an abundance, to the point where much of what Ge has given is wasted? Much we have is taken for granted, not even used, even disregarded, as if it’s not important.
Why is that?
I’ve not been able to rationalize the why’s. Nor have I been able to forget.
It’s not fair for us to have so much and they have so little.
Maybe, when God blessed the USA, when our founding forefathers created our governmental body on Godly principles and values…
Maybe, when God poured out His blessings upon us as a nation so much so there wasn’t room to contain it…
Maybe, when God saw the worship, virtue, and devotion to Him and His Holy Word as a Christian Nation– He expected us to OBEY His Word?
Maybe, when He blessed us with wealth, He intended us to USE the wealth and prosperity He blessed us with to HELP OTHERS in need, first here at home, and then to our NEIGHBORING countries?
No where in scriptures does it say we are to bear one another’s burdens ONLY IN AMERICA. (Or, only at OUR church!)
No where in scriptures does it say we are to do unto others as we would have them do unto us ONLY IN AMERICA. (Or, only at OUR church!)
No where in scriptures does it say we are to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, give drink to the thirsty, and provide shelter to the homeless ONLY IN AMERICA. (Or, only at OUR church.)
God commands us, His Church, the body of Christ, to GO YE into the WORLD, not ONLY IN AMERICA.
God so loved the WORLD and sent His only Son Jesus into the lost and dying WORLD, not ONLY IN AMERICA.
God established my missionary journey right here where I live- in my daily life, in my community, in my work place (a Christian Insurance Agency God blessed me to own). Then He expanded my journey regionally… with a Homeless Ministry God led me to establish and lead, Helping The Homeless Ministry.
But the impression of hungry, needy children in Africa He put on my heart as a young girl… and the LOVE for the people of Africa He placed in my heart as a young girl, never faded.
My love for Africa only grew STRONGER.
Last year, April-May 2016, I was blessed to go to South Africa on a mission trip with the Joyce Meyers Ministries HAND OF HOPE. I was in a very small, impoverished village called Idutawa, in Butterworth. The feeling of FINALLY placing my feet on the soil there for the first time is indescribable!
There were incredible sights, but even more heartbreaking ones. The lifestyle they live is straight out of the Old Testament era… with shepherds guarding their flock, plowing fields by hand, walking miles to find water and searching daily to gather food to feed their families.
Then this year, God lead me to return to my beloved Africa- to Uganda and to Tanzania.
I knew as soon as I was there THIS was where God wants my ministry to focus.
The people are beautiful and work very hard for basic essentials necessary to live- clean water & food.
We are spoiled here in America and blessed beyond measure- everything we could want or need at our fingertips- but why is this so?
The purpose of wealth is NOT to hoard to ourselves. There’s people, PEOPLE– and children- CHILDREN!!! dying of starvation… and we CAN and SHOULD do something about it.
We have the ability to make a difference and to end world hunger. But will we?
We are. And you’re invited to help.
iamjesusgal ministries is currently speaking at local churches presenting “CHURCHES FOR AFRICA: PLANTING SEEDS OF LOVE.”
Between May 3- May 10, we will have Minister-Missionary Wendy Roundy and her Tanzanian guest, Bishop Andrew Mukasa, speak on the mission fields in Uganda and Tanzania. Roundy will continue to schedule speaking engagements beyond this date upon request.
You will learn first hand accounts and up to date issues these people are challenged with, AND WAYS TO PLANT YOUR SEEDS OF LOVE.
It’s been said that one person can’t change the world. But I disagree.
According to scriptures we were created to multiply, ‘every seed reproduces after its own kind.’
Each one of us, doing our part, reproduces in others, and the world is changed for Christ.
One person can’t change the world, but ONE CHURCH (the body of Christ) can.
I can’t say THANK YOU enough to everyone who has sown seeds into our ministry.
It’s not ‘my’ ministry. It’s OURS. God called us together as one body to do HIS mission of reaching the lost and helping those in need.
YOU are making this happen!
Thank you, and may God bless you!
